Things I've been loving lately

I haven’t posted anything for a while because of all my exams and other stressful things, but I really miss blogging so I thought you know what? I’m going to post something today!
So this post is kind of a mashup between the things I loved throughout May and the things I am currently loving!

Vichy Normaderm

This purifying pore-tightning toner by Vichy is one of my favourite products at the moment! It's a great toner which clenases your skin gently but very effectively. A good thing about this product is that it is suitable for different skin types. This will Work great if you have sensitive skin or if you have oily or combination skin, the reason to why it's great if you have oily or combination skin is because it contains salisylic acid, which keeps your skin's oil balance in check.

Vichy (Again)

I use this product every day and night and I can seriously not get enough of it, it's one of my favourite creams of all time! Now it's actually a 24hr hydrating mask, but I have to admit I like to use it as a moisturizer. It's a super soothing and plumping mask which I absolutely love.

Avéne Thermal Spring Water

I use this Thermal Spring Water from Avéne for different things. I use it the exact way as I use my Thermal Spring Water from La Roche Posay, which I talked about in my April favourites. So if you haven't read that post and want to check it out, then here it is! http://simplyjazmine.blogspot.dk/2014/05/april-favourites.html

Baby Lips

I have wanted to get my hands on a Baby Lips lipbalm by Maybelline for a long time now and I finally got one last month! The one I bought is called Cherry Me and I have to say that I personally really like this product, it glides on smoothly, it's very moisturizing and has a great hint of colour.

The Fault In Our Stars

I am sure that most of you are familiar with this amazing book. This has to be hands down, one of the best books I've ever read in my life and therefore ofcourse one of my favourite books ever! John Green (The author) really did an amazing job with this book, everything from the beautiful story between the two main characters to all the amazing quotes. After reading this book I can't wait to get my hands on some of his other works! - If you haven't read it I really recomend that you do!

These were some of the things I've been loving lately :) What have been the things you guys have liked or enjoyed recently?

Revision tips

Hello Everyone! It's that time of the year where you may be starting to prepare yourself for your exams, or maybe you've already started. I therefore thought it would be a good time to share with you some of my tips, since I am also myself starting to prepare myself for my exams this year, (I'm graduating college).
Please remember that there is no right or wrong way to revise, you need to go with what you feel like is the best for you, so here are some of the tricks I have picked up through the years as a student, hope they can help or give you guys some inspiration :)

1) Preparation
Prepare yourself. Make a list of all your notes, if you haven't written down notes in all of your classes, then plan how long you think it is going to take you to get these notes written down,(it always takes a lot longer than what you actually think), and start as soon as possible. Collect all of your written notes and textbooks and read them trough and start making notes.

2) Organize
Once you've got all of your notes it's time to organize! Organize your notes in a way that makes them quick and easy for you to find and read. You can even make a list, where you write down what subjects you want to revise on for different days. This leads me to my next tip which is planning.

3) Planning
Planning can really be the main key when it gets to revision. Wether you want to write an entire timetable down for everything, or if you just want to have an idea of how long you think it might take, planing is always a great step.

4) Read it out loud
Like i mentioned before you should go with whatever you feel like will help you! So this tip might not help you, but why not try and give it a go, you never know it might turn out to be your best way of learning/rembering your notes. I personally like to have my notes in front of me, where I highlight all the key words, it makes your notes just a tad bit more interesting to look at. When all that is done i like to read through them a couple of times, whereafter i like to pretend like I'm doing a presentation. This makes me read it out loud because like I said I'm pretending like I'm doing a presentation of something. The more I read it out loud the easier and quicker it becomes to remember my notes, which eventually will make me remember my notes without having to look at my notes.

5) Take breaks
A really important thing while revising is taking breaks! I'm not saying that your breaks should be hours long, but just enough time to kind of rest your mind and let all the informaftion from your notes sink in. In some of my breaks I love to go for a walk. It's a good way of getting your mind off of things and latting you brain have a break and just relax and get some fresh air.

6) Music
I can sometimes find it really hard to concentrate if it's too quiet. Therefore music is like one of my lifesavers when it gets to studying and revision! I always put on my favourite kind of music or just any om my favourite songs at the moment, and it really just makes everything a bit easier and less stressfull.

7)Food and Drinks
Ok we can't forget about eating and drinking! It's important for your entire system and brain to get something to eat. Whether you prefer healthy or unhealthy food and drinks getting something to eat and drink is very important, because you need energy. It varies from what i like to eat and drink, but I love having a plate with different kind of snacks and fruits, that can easily be eaten. Drink wise I love having somthing that is fresh and cold during the day, whereas when it starts to get later I love to switch over to some tea.

8) Sleep, sleep and sleep!
I have to be honest I am so bad at getting enough sleep, which isn't very good ofcourse since our brains need to relax (ooopss)….
I always tend to revise later in the the day than what I should, which ends up with me going to bed way to late! So make sure you get enough of sleep, that way you will feel more fresh and ready the next day for revision
.

These were just some of the things/tips that I think are important while revising. My exams are coming up very soon in fact I already have two exams next week, so I would love to hear if you have any tips that you really like for revision. Hope you liked it, and good luck to all of you who also have exams this year! Remember to work hard and don't panic or stress, because trust me it will all be worth it in the end!

Met gala beauty looks!

Here are some of my favorite makeup looks from the Met gala 2014, hope you enjoy!

Taylor swift definitely knows how to rock her signature look, which is the cat eyes and some nice red lips! and once again she pulled that look off a 100%

Elizabeth Olsen kept her look quite clean and classy, with neutral smokey eyes, and some settles spring-ready orange lips!

I absolutly love how  Karlie Kloss pulled off the bronzed cheek look with a pop of highligt (absolutly love her highlight) and a nice nude lip.

I love how Hailee Steinfeld went for a very clean and mature look! her winged eyeliner and neutral lips just look so effortless, and we can not forget about her eyebrows!

Kim Kardashian once again looks very elegant and rocks her perfect expert contouring and a nice subtle smokey eye, with a nice glossy lip!

I like how Lea Michele, went with some bold brows! Her dewy skin and the touch of gold shimmer on the inner corners of her eyes and the glossy lip definitely completed her beauty look.

I love how simple yet galmorous Jessica Alba looks! the dewy skin, the goldish/brownish smokey eyes and her nude lips just makes everything look so neutral!

And lastly I absolutely adore how Beyoncé and Selena Gomez pulled off the dark red lip! I love the whole dark red lip trend, although I have to admit, that I'm not quite brave enough to wear it myself.

These were just some of my favorite makeup looks from the Met gala, let me know your thougts in the comments. :)
Love, Jazmine

Mother's day gift ideas :)

10 Mother’s day gift ideas:
Thought I’d make a few ideas for what you can do for your mom on mother’s day.
1. A nice way of starting mother's day off is by making your mom breakfast in bed, with a tray piled high with her favorite breakfast and brunch foods.

2. Take your mom out for a nice dinner (make sure you make reservations as mother's day is usually one of the busiest day of the year for restaurants)

3. Buy your mom flowers - it doesn't have to be the most fancy bouquet just something nice that you know she'll like.

4. If the restaurant/nice dinner didn't work you could always cook her favorite dinner at home.
5. Take her out for shopping and a nice lunch, maybe even for ar cup of coffee or tea.

6. A good way of making sure that your mom can have a day off where she can relax can be by giving her some gift certificate for a spa, pedicure or hair salon.
7.  Grab your mom something you know your mom loves or something she has had her eye on for a while e.g. that perfume that she loves or that coffee-machine that she has always wanted to try.
8. Set up a nice bath with a new nice bath set from body shop
9. take your mom out to the movies then buy some coffee or tea (whichever you prefer) and go to a park, where your mom and you can have a nice little chat about anything.
10. Chocolate, chocolate and chocolate! If you have absolutely no idea what to get your mom for mother's day, a nice box of chocolate is always a great idea!
Hope you enjoyed some of these ideas! :) please let me know if you got any suggestions, I would love to hear them.
Love, Jazmine

April Favourites

April is over so I thought i would share some of my faveourite things I've been loving!
Heres some of the things I have been loving:

                                                             Mascara

So I just recently bought this mascara and I really love it! it makes my lashes long with no clumps! Another thing I really like about this is that a little goes a long way! You don't really need to apply tons of coats to see a difference, which i just absolutly love, i hate those mascaras where you just have to put several of coats on to see a differnce!

                                                             BB Cream

I've really been loving this BB cream by Garnier this month! I have combination skin so this one for oily and combination skin just works really well for me. I used to use the anti-ageing one by Garnier which i like but i definatly like this one better! the reason is because for once i feel like this one gives a lot more coverege than the other one! I feel like I only need one layer of it for daily use which makes everything in the morning so much easier! And last it's a lot more matt than the anti-aging one which means I don't have to powder my entire face!

  Thermal Spring Water

Ok so I use this Thermal Spring Water from LA ROCHE POSAY for couple of different things. It's really great to use since the warm weather is slowly sneaking up on us!

1) To set your make-up: Once I've completed my make up look for the day I like to spritz my face with it. Beacuse it acts to set my make up in place.
2) Through out the day: I sometimes use it throughout the day as a mist because it's fine enough not to cause my make up to "melt".
3) Plane rides or long trips: Being stuck inside a plane which is pressure controlled with recycled air for hours is not good for your complexion. Therefore this is a great thing to carry on in your handbag, so you can spritz your face when you feel like your face needs some refreshment.

4) Workouts: This can really help you cool down either during your workout or after your workout.

Make up remover

What I really love about this product is that it's a 3 in 1. It acts as a cleansing milk, a toning lotion and an eye make-up remover! Another really good thing about this is it has captelae which helps to trap impurities. I like to use this both day and night.

      Effaclar duo

I'm already on my second tube of this amazing serum. I use it everyday both day and night and I like to use it after I've cleansed my skin with the Vichy 3 in 1 cleanser. A thing i really like about this is that it genuinley feels like nothing on your skin, and it acts as a really good primer! I feel like i really can see a difference whenever i use this underneath my make up, it just brightens my skin in a way no other serum has.

 Lipbalm

I love Vichy lipbalms and this Nutriextra is so good! seriously probably one of the best ones I've ever tried! It really moisturizes my lips and I feel like the balm stays on for so long, I really hate it when you buy a lipbalm and it just fades away after 2 minutes. Therefore i love it!

Lipgloss

Personally i don't feel like I can pull off bold lips so therefore i really like this lipgloss by Maxfactor (vibrant curve effect).
it's a nice sheer red lipgloss that just adds a bit of color and shine. It's shade is called dominant and it smells really good!

    Concealer

I like this concealer by elf because i think it gives a nice coverage without being too much. Another thing i really like about is it stays in place the entire day without creasing, i hate concealers that crease, so this has been a great product. I have the concealer in the shade apricot beige, and I've been using it ever since i bought it.

Clutch

I have been loving this clutch by Adax (a danish brand) through out the month of April, beacuase one it has a hand strap! that way I know I won't loose it easily, and two it holds up so much place, without being too big, so that's just an absolute plus!

Song

And lastly my favourite song of the month has to be a song by Lukas Graham called "Happy home" the song is just so good that i have been listening to it on repeat. Heres the song if you wanna have a listen to it.

These were just some of the things that i enjoyed using throughout April.
Hope you enjoyed reading it :)
Love, Jazmine
